Kim Brewster Everyone remembers their first yoga class.  My first yoga class remains indelibly etched in my body and mind since I first entered the doors of Yoga Vida on January 22, 2000.  Each class piqued my curiosity and I found myself at a yoga teacher training at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico, during 9/11/2001.  I was away from my husband and young children, not knowing how or when I would be able to travel back to Austin. We were all offered the chance to leave, but travel options were sparse, and though a few people had cars, no one left.  In addition, there was no radio or TV coverage at the Ranch.  Despite the uncertainty of the time, all of us survived the tumult and completed the training.  Since then, while raising a family and working full time, I have maintained my practice and taught over 2000 classes.  I love the teachings of the fabulous teachers at Yoga vida and teaching sunrise classes in Westlake.  It's a good life.
