Massage Yoga
and bodywork are synergistic and complimentary. They help you learn
to listen to your inner voice, providing a time of introspection in
which you can experience the flowing connection between the breath
and the body to achieve maximum benefit. Beyond simply helping you
"feel good", massage offers a wide range of therapeutic
benefits.
Massage therapy can relieve bodily tension by stretching and loosening
muscle and connective tissue. At the same time, it can greatly improve
blood flow to the heart and the movement of lymph fluid throughout
the entire body. Massage can speed the removal of metabolic waste
products resulting from exercise or inactivity, allowing more oxygen
and nutrients to reach the cells and tissues. Therapeutic massage
can also stimulate the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain
killers, into the brain and nervous system. Although a single massage
will be enjoyable, the effects of massage are cumulative and a course
of massage treatments will bring the most benefits. At its best, massage
has the potential to restore the individual physically, mentally and
spiritually. Chris Jones is a licensed massage therapist (MT047210), who utilizes Deep Tissue, Swedish, Myofascial release, and Trigger Point therapies to realign the muscular system and promote overall health and healing. Whether you need to reduce stress, relieve everyday aches and pains, or recover from injuries, your treatment will be customized to meet your needs. Chris received his massage training in Tucson, Arizona at the Providence Institute, in a 650 hour program. The Providence Institute emphasizes the synergy between yoga and bodywork, incorporating a yoga studio and yoga teacher training as well as a bodywork clinic and school. Chris recently moved to Austin, and has been a practicing therapist for over a year.
